Water Resources

water tanks at the Gentle Bells school in KenyaWater is a scarce resource. Collection of rainwater is a common method of obtaining and storing water. For that purpose KCEF has provided collection tanks to Gentle Bells, Karem, Kicoshep and Blessed Children’s Center.

Unfortunately when Kicoshep was forced to move due to the widening of the  the railroad line passing through KIbera, they lost a valuable resource.  There was a well at their former location.  They used the water for their needs and also offered it to the community for washing and laundry.  With the move to the new building they are forced to rely on water collection during the rainy season as their main source of water.  When that supply is exhausted they must purchase water.

KCEF has explored partnerships with NGO’s focused on finding and drilling for water where this would be a practical solution.

How can I help? By purchasing additional water.
