KCEF funds and supports several projects and programs to augment and enhance the educational experience of students in our partner schools. The programs are offered to school administrators, but true to our philosophy of Kenyans having full ownership, they are free to accept the programs in full or in part or not at all as they determine what is best for their individual school. Feeding Programs – KCEF is feeding over 1700 children through our programs. For many these meals may be their only nutrition of the day.
Tanari – Rights of Passage and Camping Program. Teaming with Tanari, KCEF provides experiences that take slum children out their daily environment for experiences in nature. They also provide education and inspiration to fortify the children against the undermining and predatory elements of the slums.
Teacher Training – KCEF provides scholarships and loans for teacher advancement.
Water Resources – Water supply inconsistency is a problem in Kenya. Plentiful in the rainy season, scarce in the dry season. KCEF supported solutions unique to each school’s situation.
Computer Education – Beginning with OLPC laptops and now using computers with online curriculum, KCEF has provided over 150 computers to augment the education of students in our schools.
